DAY CAMPS |
Day Camps are open to 8 years and older.
Time: 9am-3:30pm (flexible) M-F
Hands-on-Horses only
Each child is assigned a horse to take care of for the week. They learn
horse care, including brushing and saddling. There will be riding
lessons, trail rides, demonstrations, and activities.
Kids should bring a sack lunch and drink, and will enjoy a lunch break
in our shady area. Cowboy boots, long pants, a hat, and sunscreen are
required.

Level 1 Camp is for first time participants in our program or previous campers who would like to do it again.

Sessions consist of 6
classes. Children will learn safety, how to tack up their horse, and
proper riding techniques. Ground work, Arena work, and Trail work is
included. Riding boots (cowboy boots) and long pants are REQUIRED.
Helmets are available for a $10 fee per session. |

Pony Pals
is a riding Club for kids who would just like to ride and have fun!
Kids will explore the trails at Cherry Creek State Park, see wildlife,
and enjoy sitting on top of their own horse! Moms & dads are
welcome to ride along. There are five (5) rides, with a total of 6 1/2
hours riding time. REQUIRED ATTIRE:Long pants and boots, or lace-up shoes with socks.

per session (6 classes. Minimum of 3 students. Private and semiprivate
lessons also available at $77 & $55 per hour, respectively.
Attire: Riding boots and long pants required. Optional riding helmet rental $10 per session.

A
horse is provided for each student. Students must have completed the
prior level or show equivalent skills, to advance to the next level.
LEVEL I: | Includes
ground work, arena work, and a trail class. Proper seat, basic reining,
control and handling of the horse, grooming, and safety around horses. |
LEVEL II: |
Is a continuation of Level I, including more advanced techniques and movement with the horse. |
LEVEL III: | Beginning trotting, emphasis on proper seat, control and handling of the horse. |
LEVEL
IV: | Is a continuation of Level III, plus more advanced techniques, improved balance, and movement with the horse at a trot. | LEVEL V: | Bareback riding at a walk and trot. Emphasis on balance and movement with horse. |
LEVEL VI: |
Beginning level cantering. Emphasis on proper seat, control and handling of the horse. |
LEVEL VII: |
Continuation of Level VI, advanced cantering techniques. |
Note to Parents:
Minimum number of students in each session is four. If there are fewer
that four students enrolled, the class will be canceled and other
arrangements will be made. Please plan on arriving 45 minutes ahead of
the scheduled times for pony pals. For Riding Lessons and Day Camps
please arrive 45 minutes prior to start time on the first day, then 15
minutes prior to start times on the remaining days. Your cooperation is
needed and appreciated. As space is limited there will be no refunds.
Make-up times will only be scheduled due to inclement weather, so
please plan ahead. A State Park Pass is required for each vehicle,
special passes are available first day of classes at the Stables.
