FAQ'S

1. Q: What shoes should I wear?
    A: Lace up shoes, no sandals, slip-ons or bare feet. Boots preferred.

2. Q: Is there a weight limit?
    A: Yes. 220 pounds.

3. Q: Do you offer riding programs or lessons for children and adults?
    A: Yes, check out our Programs and Activities page.

4. Q: Do I need a reservation?
    A: We require 24 hour notice. Sometimes we can schedule same day.  Contact Us

5. Q: Are your horses well cared for?
    A: Yes, we love our horses, and keep them for their entire life.  All horses are fed a hearty meal before trail rides, and are offered water on a regular basis.  They are wormed and vaccinated.

6. Q: Are the trail rides guided?
    A: Yes, one of our experienced wranglers will always accompany you on your trail.

7. Q: Are helmets required?
    A: Helmets are not required, but they are available for rent $3 each.

8. Q: How can I prepare for a trail ride?
    A: Drink plenty of fluids; wear sunscreen and bug spray; hat (that will not blow off) and lace up shoes or boots; arrive 30 minutes ahead of your trail time.

9. Q: Where are you located?
    A: Inside Chatfield State Park in Littleton, CO. One mile south on Wadsworth from CO-470.

10. Q: How old do children have to be to go on trail?
     A: 7 years and older can go out on trail and ride their own horse.  All children under 7 can do a 15-30 minute hand led pony ride. We do not ride double.

11. Q: Do you do trail rides all year round?
      A: Yes, as long as the trail conditions are safe.


12. Q: Are the riders allowed to move their horses around or do they have to keep them in a single file line?
        A: Riders are allowed to move their horses around as long as there is room on the trail.

13. Q: Do you allow riders to ride double?
        A: No. It would be uncomfortable for the riders as well as awkward for the horse. Also, it would be more difficult for the riders to have complete control of their horse.

14. Q: Are we allowed to pet the horses?
        A: Yes. You are allowed to pet any horses in the fenced in areas. Please do not feed the horses or enter any pens.
